On Thursday evening, Claggett & Sykes Law Firm hosted a grand opening party for its new Reno office to celebrate the expansion of its Las Vegas office while introducing itself to the Reno community. The event consisted of a special check presentation to both The Children’s Cabinet and Sierra Nevada Journeys, along with an announcement of a 5-year scholarship program for Sierra Nevada Journeys.

Giving back to the community has always been an important initiative for the Claggett & Sykes Law Firm and they have big plans for Reno. On the basis of its slogan, “Two Communities, One Firm,” the law firm puts its communities’ needs first. Whether it’s obtaining trial results or volunteering, Claggett & Sykes truly believes the work it does makes its communities safer, better places.

“It is such an honor to have been welcomed with open arms by ‘the Biggest Little City in the World,’” expressed Sean Claggett, partner at Claggett & Sykes. “Just as we handpick each case we’ve come across, we handpicked Reno to not only bring our legal services to, but also share our efforts in improving the lives and livelihoods of children and families in a new community in addition to Las Vegas.”

The Children’s Cabinet aims to keep children safe and families together by providing cost-free programs and services that address unmet needs through a unique and effective cooperative effort between the private sector and public agencies of Nevada. To help further its mission, Claggett and Sykes presented a $10,000 check to ensure children and families thrive in the schools and neighborhoods in which they serve.

Sierra Nevada Journeys is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to deliver innovative, outdoor, science-based education programs for youth to develop critical thinking skills and to inspire natural resource stewardship. With their vision being to transform lives by building curiosity, confidence, and connections to nature, especially for those who are traditionally underserved, Claggett & Sykes has committed to a $25,000, 5-year scholarship program to reach those students who have had little or no access to such programs.
