Anabel Sarabia on behalf of the Estate of Angelina Erives v. Platinum Property Management, LLC
The family of an 11-year old girl who was shot and killed in her home during a drive by shooting in 2018 is filing a suit against the HOA. The intended targets of the drive by shooting lived in the house next door and were known gang members who rented the house. Police had responded to numerous calls at that house, including raids by SWAT officers. The HOA received numerous complaints from other homeowners and had the ability to void the lease under the CC&Rs of the community.
